Digital Publishing Institute

Research

A major component of the DPI is research. The DPI supports faculty, staff, and students in their production of digitally oriented research projects and open-access scholarship. Research projects submitted to and built through the DPI will be available to the public within and outside of the WVU community.

WVU faculty interested in pursuing research with digital publishing or multimedia components can contact the DPI staff for grant writing support.

Vega

Vega is an open-access publishing platform funded through a $1 million Mellon grant. It will include rich media publications, flexible workflows and collaboration, and complete customizibility. User testing begins on April 1, 2017.

Vega will be available for publishers worldwide free of charge. For editors and publishers interested in more options, the DPI provides hosting options at WVU.
